Kim was born in Brooklyn, NY. She is the middle child of two sisters. Her family moved to CT when she was 5 where she attended public schools in Meriden and Middletown. After graduating high school Kim attended and graduated from The Wilfred Academy of Cosmetology and for a short period of time she was a licensed hairdresser.

Like many of us, Kim cites as her greatest accomplishment her children. She is the proud parent of 4 children, 1 cat (Simba), 3 grandchildren and 1 grand pup.

Her son Deron Jr, 28 served in the US Army as a military police officer at Ft Hood, Texas. He has since returned

home and is currently managing a gym and also works in the kitchen of a local assisted living facility. His daughter Riley, 4 is the apple of his eye.

Deric, 27 is currently serving as a combat engineer in the US Army. In 2017 he became Staff Sgt Deric Burnett. He and his wife Samantha and children Savanah 4 and Deric Jr 2 are stationed at Ft Bragg in NC. Their third child is a German Shepard named Sasha.

Kim volunteers as director of The All Peoples Community Outreach Ministry (APCOM) food pantry in Middletown where her responsibilities span from ordering, shopping and picking up food to stocking shelves, doing pantry statistics and managing all the volunteers. This position has given Kim the opportunity to work with and serve a diverse group of people in her community which has become very rewarding.
